Patient support hub
Fertility treatment can be a daunting and emotionally difficult time. At The Fertility Centre we are here to provide the emotional support you need to make your fertility journey easier. In addition to our friendly and knowledgeable staff, who are available to support you before, during and after treatment, we also have a number of support services:
We run a monthly support group in The Fertility Centre where you can meet other people, share experiences and swap advice on coping with fertility treatment. You are welcome to attend whatever stage of treatment you are at and whatever your circumstances. The support group is facilitated by members of The Fertility Centre team and is free to attend. You do not have to be a patient of the unit to attend.
The support group is held virtually on Zoom. You will be emailed the link ahead of the session.
Next dates, all 4pm-5pm:
- Thursday 20th February
- Thursday 13th March
- Thursday 10th April
- Thursday 8th May
- Thursday 12th June
To attend please contact us at chelwest.acu@nhs.net or phone us on 020 3315 8585. You will then receive an email confirming your appointment date, and the team will email you a video link on the day. Please contact us if you have not received an email confirming your appointment.
We offer a counselling service that gives you the opportunity to talk to a sympathetic and impartial counsellor in a confidential setting. You and you partner may attend together or individually. For NHS funded patients the first 3 appointments are free, for private patients the first appointment is free of charge. Thereafter appointments are charged at £115/hr.
Sessions are currently being done via Skype.
Our Fertility Centre counsellors are accredited members of the British Infertility Counselling Association (BICA) and the UK Council for Psychotherapy.
Fertility Network UK is the nation’s leading patient-focused fertility charity. They provide free and impartial help, support and advice to anyone affected by fertility issues.
They have a dedicated support line, arrange local support groups and webinars, run an online HealthUnlocked fertility community and have lots of helpful information on their website.
