Miss Anita Jatan is a London based Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Hand Surgeon with over 15 years’ experience.  She is fully accredited with the General Medical Council (GMC) on the Specialist Register and is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, England (FRCS, Plast).  Graduating with honours in both degrees, she studied at the University of Tasmania, in Medicine and Surgery after completing a Bachelor of Science.  She then moved to Sydney where she underwent specialist training first in General Surgery, then Plastic Surgery with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.  In between, she spent a year in the United Kingdom, obtaining a Masters of Science degree, also with honours, from City University London.

During Anita’s plastic surgery training in Australia, she worked at many of the leading teaching hospitals, in including Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney Children’s Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital and Sydney Hospital.  She also completed a six-month rotation in Aesthetic/Cosmetic surgery and was able to work even more frequently with internationally renowned cosmetic plastic surgeons in both Sydney and Melbourne.

Anita relocated to London to live with her husband and took the opportunity to do further subspecialty training.  This included a Craniofacial Fellowship at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital; the Skin Cancer Unit at Guys’ and St Thomas’ Hospital; and the award of a Diploma in Hand Surgery from the European Board of Hand Surgeons.  During this time, she also completed the rigorous process of Certificate of Eligibility to the Specialist Register, including sitting the Fellowship examination in Plastic Surgery for the Royal College of Surgeons England.

Working as a consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Hand surgeon in the NHS at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, Anita is a member of the Skin Cancer Multidisciplinary Team, the unique Hand Surgery Unit (with both orthopaedic and plastic surgeons specialising in hand surgery for both adults and children) and is Clinical Lead for Juniors.  She strongly believe in teaching and training plastic surgeons of the future.  In addition, Anita has a specialist interest in body contouring, including abdominoplasty, liposuction, brachioplasty (arm reduction) and hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).  She also performs non-surgical facial aesthetic procedures, such as anti-wrinkle treatment, jawline slimming, bruxism treatment, dermal fillers and skin boosters.
