Profile
Dr Dexter Wiseman is a Consultant in Respiratory and General Internal Medicine at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, with a special interest in sleep medicine. He graduated from medical school in 2010 and began his specialist training in respiratory medicine in North West London in 2015. During his training, he worked at several leading institutions, including Hammersmith Hospital, the Royal Brompton Hospital, and Northwick Park Hospital.
Dr Wiseman is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London, having completed a PhD in the laboratories of Professor Jadwiga (“Wisia”) Wedzicha and Professor Peter Openshaw. He previously helped lead the London COPD Exacerbation Cohort, and his research interests include respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and other viral causes of COPD exacerbations.
More recently, Dr Wiseman was appointed Consultant Respiratory Physician at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, where he serves as the Trust Lead for Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV). He also led a service review of the local sleep service diagnostic pathway and was jointly awarded an HSJ Award in the Modernising Diagnostics category for this work.
