Professor Kevin Shotliff is the Clinical Tutor for Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, Honorary Senior Lecturer with Imperial College London and Head of the Year 3 Examination Board.

He is on the General Medical Council Specialist Register for Diabetes, Endocrinology and General Internal Medicine. Professor Shotliff qualified from St George’s Hospital Medical School, University of London in 1987, obtaining an MB BS and has an MD from the University of London. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, having obtained Membership of the Royal College in 1991. He also holds a Diploma in Child Health from the Royal College of Physicians.

After undertaking a General Medical Registrar rotation in South West Thames, Professor Shotliff studied for his Masters Degree at the Hammersmith Hospital, prior to joining the South West Thames Diabetes and Endocrinology Senior Registrar Rotation.

In June 1998 he was appointed Consultant Physician with an interest in Diabetes and Endocrinology at Kingston Hospital, Surrey, where he ran a district general hospital diabetes and endocrinology service, with out-reach diabetes and endocrinology clinics. He was Chairman of the Department of Medicine and Trust Information Technology Lead for his last four years there.

In March 2003 Professor Shotliff moved to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. He also holds Honorary Consultant Endocrinologist Contracts with the Royal Brompton Hospital (where he undertakes a Cystic Fibrosis Related Diabetes Clinic) and The Royal Marsden Hospital.

At Chelsea and Westminster Professor Shotliff has a General Medicine responsibility, as well as providing a Diabetes and Endocrine outpatient service with three colleagues. He is also the Clinical Lead for the Obesity Service for Central London Community Healthcare Trust.

Professor Shotliff is involved in teaching an MSc module in Diabetic Retinopathy for the University of Roehampton Diabetes MSc program. He also teaches and examines on the Middlesex University / Rila Publications Postgraduate Diploma in Diabetes and Endocrinology course.

Professor Shotliff has written several diabetes and endocrinology text book chapters and his research interests include diabetic retinopathy and screening and methods for the delivery of postgraduate and undergraduate education.
