Profile
Dr Matthew Foxton qualified from St George’s Hospital Medical School in 1995. He undertook specialist training in gastroenterology in the South East London region and completed his training in 2007 having gained sub-specialty accreditation in hepatology. He was awarded an MD from the University of London in 2009 following the submission of his thesis on hepatitis C recurrence after liver transplantation.
He was appointed as a consultant in gastroenterology at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich in 2007 and took up a post as consultant hepatologist at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and King’s College Hospital in 2010. In 2011 he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians. His interests are new treatments for viral hepatitis, early detection of liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma.
