Dr Kayal Vijayakumar is a Consultant Paediatric Neurologist at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

Dr Vijayakumar graduated from Dr MGR Medical University in India and underwent sub-specialty training in Paediatrics and Neurology in the United Kingdom. She has been working as a Consultant Paediatric Neurologist for over twenty years. Dr Vijayakumar has a special interest in neuro-muscular disorders and a wide range of neurological diseases, including epilepsy, paroxysmal movement disorders, complex headaches/migraines, neuroinflammatory, neurovascular and neuro-genetic/metabolic diseases.

Dr Vijayakumar has a wealth of experience and expertise in the field of child neurology. She is a faculty member in national training courses organised by the British Paediatric Neurology Association (BPNA), including:

• Epilepsy (PET – Paediatric Epilepsy Training)
• Headache (ChAT – Children’s Headache Training), and
• Tone disorders/management (ACT – Approaching Children’s Tone)

Dr Vijayakumar is able to communicate in both English and Tamil.
