Profile

Krishna Soondrum is a well-established Consultant Paediatric Gastroenterologist based in North West London. He graduated from the University of Hamburg, Germany in 1999.

Having started paediatric training in the London Teaching Centres: St George’s Hospital, Royal Brompton Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children, he gained an MSc in Clinical Paediatrics from University College London in 2007 and has become a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health since.

He completed the selective National Training Programme in Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition in Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, King’s College Hospital, University Hospital of Wales and Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Krishna Soondrum was appointed as a Consultant Paediatric Gastroenterologist at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in 2011, were he has been leading the intestinal rehabilitation service for North West London since.

He has a broad experience in the whole field of paediatric gastroenterology such as gastro-intestinal dysmotility including gastro-oesophageal reflux and constipation, paediatric inflammatory bowel disease, malabsorption syndromes such as congenital diarrhoea and Coeliac disease, allergic gut diseases and nutritional emergencies.

He can diagnose and manage all gastroenterological conditions and his diagnostic skills include paediatric endoscopy and colonoscopy. He recently became the departmental lead in Paediatric Gastroenterology and is involved in setting national guidelines and standards.

Krishna lives with his two young children and wife in London. He is friendly and approachable, being able to provide expert advice on any problem within Paediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition.

He has been the Paediatric Gastroenterologist for the Royal Brompton Hospital looking after the nutritional and gastroenterological problems of children of complex and rare heart and lung conditions.
