Miss Kate Maclaran is a Consultant Gynaecologist and accredited subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery. She has wide experience in all aspects of fertility and gynaecology, with a particular interest in assisted conception, low ovarian reserve, premature ovarian insufficiency, menopause, polycystic ovarian syndrome, ovulation induction and reproductive surgery.

Miss Maclaran graduated from Edinburgh University in 2005 with distinction and undertook her postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in North West London, before completing her subspecialty training at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. She completed a MD Research degree at Imperial college London, investigating the safety of testosterone use in women and remains actively involved in research. She has presented at national and international meetings and published widely on topics including early ovarian ageing, premature ovarian insufficiency, fibroids, minimally invasive surgery and many aspects of mid-life women’s health.

She is passionate about patient support and raising awareness about Women’s Health issues. She leads the unit’s fertility support group and is a Trustee and past Chair of the Daisy Network; a charity supporting women with Premature Ovarian Insufficiency.
