Mr Bijan Khoubehi is a Consultant Urological Surgeon based in London. He holds an NHS practice at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, where he serves as Lead Clinician and MDT Lead for Urology. In addition, he has an honorary consultant position at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

He graduated with Honours in Medicine (MBBS) from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, University of London, in 1994. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1998, and in 2001 was awarded a higher research degree (MD) for his work investigating developmental genes (PAX2) in prostate cancer. His postgraduate training included two prestigious fellowships, and he was also awarded a British Urological Foundation scholarship in robotic surgery.

Professional expertise

His specialist interests include urological oncology, particularly prostate, bladder, and kidney cancer. He has extensive experience in robotic, laparoscopic, and open surgery, and was among the first surgeons in the UK to adopt robotic radical prostatectomy, which he has been performing since 2007. He is recognised as a high-volume robotic surgeon, with outcomes for cancer clearance, continence, and preservation of sexual function in line with the best published international data.

Alongside his clinical practice, Mr Bijan Khoubehi has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and continues to maintain strong academic and research interests, particularly in prostate and kidney cancer.

He is actively involved in teaching and mentoring, training both undergraduate and postgraduate doctors, and he regularly lectures at national and international meetings. His leadership roles reflect his commitment to advancing multidisciplinary cancer care and improving outcomes for patients.
