Mr David Bodansky is a specialist hand and wrist orthopaedic surgeon dedicated to helping people return quickly and safely to the activities that matter most, whether that is everyday life, hobbies, or high-level sport. His approach is simple: to understand how a condition affects each individual and provide the most effective treatment to restore hand and wrist function.

Each year, Mr Bodansky cares for more than 3,000 patients and performs around 500 operations. However, the majority of his patients are treated successfully without surgery through tailored, evidence-based non-surgical treatment programmes.

Mr Bodansky trained at some of the world’s leading centres for hand and wrist surgery, including Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Wrightington Hospital, East Grinstead Hospital, and Chelsea & Westminster Hospital. He also undertook specialist training in Liverpool, London, and North America, completing advanced fellowship programmes in both adult and paediatric hand surgery.

He was ranked first in Europe in the European Hand Diploma examination, the specialist qualification undertaken by consultant hand surgeons. Throughout his career, he has received more than 30 medical prizes and has had the privilege of representing the British Society for Surgery of the Hand in Ethiopia, where he taught local surgeons the management of hand injuries.

His commitment to exceptional patient care has been recognised through the I Want Great Care Certificate of Excellence in 2023, 2024, and 2025. This award, voted for by patients and colleagues, reflects his dedication to delivering outstanding clinical care and an excellent patient experience.
