Matt Cauldwell is a Consultant Obstetrician and a specialist in high risk obstetrics and managing medical problems in pregnancy. He has over 15 years of experience working in the speciality.

Matt has a strong research background, publishing internationally, and was awarded an MD for research undertaken at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. He has co-authored several national and international guidelines. Notably Matthew has experience of managing both high risk and uncomplicated pregnancies and is passionate about offering an individualised and patient-centred approach. He understands the importance of providing up to date evidence-based care, and works in partnership with parents-to-be to provide a positive pregnancy and birth experience.

Matt is also passionate about maternity safety and improvement. He was one of the senior authors of the Ockenden Maternity Review the largest single review of maternity care in the UK. This report has shaped the future for maternity services in the UK. Matt is now also part of the review team examining care at Nottingham University Hospitals. He is also an assessor for the UK Confidential Enquiry in Maternal Deaths. Matt understands the importance of listening to patients, particularly as pregnancy can be a time of heightened anxiety so they can feel supported in their pregnancy journey.
