Roberta Brum

Profile

Dr Roberta Brum was appointed as Consultant Physician in HIV and Genitourinary Medicine at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London in 2014.

Besides her specialist training in the UK, she has obtained diplomas in HIV and Genitourinary Medicine; family planning and the DRCOG (Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists). She is also certified to insert and remove coils and implants for contraception .

She is an active member of the British Menopause Society and the International Menopause Society.

Her clinical expertise includes all aspects of sexual and reproductive health, and sexually transmitted infections, in both men and women. She has extensive experience in managing all aspects of HIV infection, AIDS and antiretroviral therapy and is currently the lead for the HIV Menopause clinic and the HIV Antenatal clinic, within her department.

Her regular clinics include those for chronic and recurrent female problems (BV/TVl/Thrush); as well as dedicated HIV women’s health clinics; menopause clinics and joint HIV and pregnancy clinics.

She also has extensive experience with syphilis management and leads virtual clinic locally.

Dr Brum cares for a large cohort of Portuguese speaking patients, both in HIV and sexual health settings.

Dr Brum’s main clinical interests include all aspects of Sexually Transmitted Infections; herpes, HIV and syphilis management; recurrent vaginal infections/discharge; chronic/recurrent urogenital conditions in both men and women and delivery of PrEP and PEPSE. She is also an advocate of a holistic approach to healthcare, and in particular listening to patients concerns and involving them in their treatment plans.
