Dr Sam Botchey is a Consultant in Musculoskeletal, Sport, and Exercise Medicine (SEM) with extensive experience managing acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries across all age groups and backgrounds, in both private practice, the NHS, and elite sports settings.

Passionate about non-surgical management, Dr Botchey specialises in treating both acute injuries and chronic conditions like arthritis. As an expert in musculoskeletal ultrasound, he incorporates it into his examinations to achieve the most accurate diagnoses possible.

He employs innovative, non-surgical treatment methods such as shockwave therapy, Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), and hyaluronic acid injections and is a strong advocate for regenerative medicine and surgery avoidance where feasible.

Dr Botchey is also committed to precision preventive medicine and performance optimisation, focusing on injury prevention, health span, and longevity improvement.

Professional expertise

A Fellow of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine, Dr Botchey trained in the prestigious Oxford University Hospitals SEM Programme at the world-renowned Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre. With over a decade of elite professional sports experience, he has worked with the England National Football Teams, Chelsea FC, Arsenal FC, and Premiership Rugby. He currently consults for the NFL during their London games and for Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. Additionally, he has served as a civilian SEM consultant for the Ministry of Defence and in Advanced Community Musculoskeletal clinics within the NHS.
