Dermatology
Our Consultants treat and manage a wide variety of dermatological conditions. We have regular outpatient clinics to provide advice on the diagnosis and management of all general dermatology problems.
Our specialist services include advice and treatments for:
- Complex inflammatory skin disease and associated conditions – such as psoriasis, eczema, rosacea, hidradenitis suppurativa and acne
- Genital dermatology
- HIV related dermatology
- Hair and nail problems and concerns
- Skin cancer
Our Trust is also a centre of excellence for Mohs Micrographic Surgery (MMS). This is a specialised technique used to remove specific types of head and neck skin cancers. This technique enables skin cancers to be fully removed with the lowest likelihood of recurrence whilst at the same time removing the minimum amount of skin. The most common type of skin cancer requiring MMS is basal carcinoma; however we may also treat some squamous cell carcinomas and other rare tumours. The most common anatomical sites that may require MMS are the ears, lips, eyes and nose.
